Irene Kowaliska

Born in Warsaw in 1905 and died in Rome in 1991. She completed his studies in the School of Applied Arts in Vienna where she graduated in 1927. After her stay in Berlin, where she married the writer Armin Wegner, she moved to Vietri sul Mare where she renewed folk pottery and weaving. In 1956 she moved to Rome and began his extraordinary art of icon painting on glass and collage. She is considered one of the greatest exponents that contributed to the rebirth of Vietri ceramics.
